The short answer
To flag a correction, name the page and the exact figure, link directly to the publisher page that supports a different value, and say what scope and date that value covers.
Many apparent errors are scope differences, such as qualifying, friendlies or shootout kicks. The methodology explains the counting rules used across this site.
Before you write
What makes a useful correction
A correction can be checked only when it can be traced to a publisher page and compared like for like. These four details make that possible.
The page and the exact figure
Give the page address and quote the figure as it appears, including its row label, so the claim can be found without guesswork.
A direct publisher link
Link to the exact page that supports the competing value, ideally the competition organiser, award organiser or club. A search-results page or a social post is a discovery aid, not evidence.
The scope and date of the competing figure
State what the figure covers and when it was published or last updated. A source’s publication date is not always the date of its last included match.
Whether qualifying, friendlies or shootouts are involved
Say whether the competing total includes Champions League qualifying, international friendlies or shootout kicks. These change totals without either figure being wrong, and this site keeps them separately labelled.
Scope note

What this form is for
Sourced factual corrections are welcome: a miscounted total, a mislabelled period, a broken publisher link or a figure that a later official record has superseded.
Opinions on which player is better, requests for live or automatic updates and commercial proposals fall outside the purpose of this site, which is a static, dated reference. No response time is promised.
Where a correction is accepted, the figure is rechecked against its publisher and the page’s scope and cutoff labels are updated to match, in line with the discrepancy policy.
